Self Made Construction Approved Contractor for Keeping Pomona Homes Healthy Program

Pomona, CA - [April 28th, 2024] - Self Made Construction is proud to announce its approval as a certified contractor for the Keeping Pomona Homes Healthy (KPHH) Program. This designation underscores Self Made Construction's commitment to ensuring safer and healthier households in Pomona.

a.The KPHH Program, initiated by the City of Pomona, aims to address household hazards such as mold, lead, allergens, carbon monoxide, and more. Through this program, eligible households can receive assistance of up to $6,900 for necessary repairs and improvements.

As an approved contractor, Self Made Construction is poised to provide essential services to Pomona residents, ensuring their homes meet safety standards and contribute to overall well-being. Services covered by the grant include installations and repairs such as bath exhaust fans, water heaters, carbon monoxide and smoke detectors, water heater safety straps, drain lines, shower/faucet valve replacements, and more.

Housing Rehabilitation Program

Program Overview

The goal of the Housing Rehabilitation Program is to help low-income households who do not otherwise have funds, to repair health and safety items at their home. The Program is available to low-income families that meet the income limits. Qualified owners may receive grants of up to $10,000.

The City Council has approved funding using Community Development Block Grant (“CDBG”) funds that were allocated to the City of Jurupa Valley by the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (“HUD”).

Home Repair Program

 The City of Palm Springs receives an
annual CDBG entitlement allocation established by a formula from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development – HUD, for local use, as an entitlement city based on population.

Through the City's CDBG Program, very low income homeowners with real property improvement needs are provided annual financial assistance for minor routine home maintenance, emergency repairs, accessibility modifications and code violations of health and safety concerns to the livable areas of the residence. Disaster preparedness items are addressed in applicant’s first year such as smoke detectors, natural gas shut-off valves, and hot water heater strapping. Applicants must be the primary owner-occupant, meet household-income guidelines, and in good financial standing with the
City (delinquency of property taxes, fees, fines, liens, etc.).

Long Beach

Commmunity Action Partnership

We are please to announce a sub-contractor agreement with Long Beach Community Action Partnership.  We are signed into contract to deliver on the LIHEAP and DOE related weatherization work.  This program consists of minor residential construction focused on saving energy for qualified homes.  We perform on jobs such as window and door replacement, HVAC, minor plumbing and electrical, insulation, minor envelope and home repair, and other related work.  We enjoy bringing comfort into peoples homes, and also helping them lower their energy bills.  It makes everyone at Self Made Construction proud and happy to know we providing direct assistance to many families and seniors.  We strive our best to provide them with the best service possible.
